A leader is someone who knows the way, goes the way, and SHOWS THE WAY. ~ John C. Maxwell ~
Anyone can be a boss, make demands and belittle. Anyone can point and tell, and even point blame when things go wrong.
That’s the easy thing to do.
But a leader will set the example. Will get out in the field and get their hands dirty because they want to, not because they have to. Will work as a team, humble themselves and help those who follow them.
A leader is someone who makes sure their followers get recognition, noticed and praised.
A leader encourages, lifts, and will work beside you with a mop and broom as they help and listen to you.
This takes intentionality and work.
Bosses are a dime a dozen.
Be a leader and work hard; rise above to help others succeed by humbling yourself.
Some scriptures that show leadership:
1 Peter 5:3 ESV
“Not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.”
Proverbs 29:2 ESV
“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.”
Matthew 20:25-26 ESV
“But Jesus called them to him and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant…’ “
