Jesus said “Love Everybody” -but- He did not say “Trust everybody”.
“But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people.” John 2:24 NLT
“Trusting someone is our choice – them proving us wrong is theirs.” ~ Unknown ~
Lies leave us with more than feelings of betrayal and heartbreak. It leaves us wondering if everything they said and did was a lie. At what points were they honest and at what points were they lying. Questioning how far they will take the lies. At what point would they truly be honest. Lies leave us wondering if they really cared about us. Did they actually like/love us. Lies produce damaging gaps within the heart and mind that leave us wondering what else they haven’t told us, or what else we didn’t find out about. Lies damage everything. 🥺😭
They don’t lie to you because they fear hurting you with the truth. They lie because they do not respect or honor you, or your trust in them enough to be honest. They don’t lie because they fear losing you. They lie because they don’t value or respect you enough to do what is honorable and honest to keep you.
They fear your confidence to do what is correct because they wouldn’t do what was right.
•••••••••••••• Long story short ••••••••••••••
Fact: They didn’t want to tell you the truth.
Why: They didn’t honor you or your heart enough to be honest.
•••• We could end this on that simple fact ••••
If they can’t honor you, or your trust in them with the little things, they won’t honor or respect you with anything major.
It’s 100% acceptable, reasonable, understandable, and honorable to expect honesty. It is also 100% on them if they choose to prove your trust in them wrong.
You deserve full honesty! Even if it hurts or causes conflict.
This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be nice, cordial, friendly etc… when around them. Continue to be your awesome self.
Why…
Because – Jesus didn’t even trust people. But He still loved them.
Happy Saturday friends! May today bring you belly busting laughs that build memories for a lifetime. 🥰
