So, the other day while visiting with a person at work about churches and after listening to her story, I asked if I could pray with her. There was now me and one other friend visiting with her at this point. She was looking for a church to call home again and I felt prompted to pray with her.

Before commencing the prayer with her I made sure it was ok to pray in the office at work. We have that fine line in the USA of separating Church and State and I do not want to violate it.

My question was followed by a very prompt “This is not a church” from one of the 3 connected offices (I won’t say which one). So we took the prayer outside. We never argued or rebuked it. Looking back I should have rebuked it. However, I wanted to share love, not scare this wonderful lady off.

Of course Satan would take this opportunity and try to stop what was in the process of happening.

And because he attempted to stop this process, I am even more confident that this amazing person is going to find a church to call home. Her and her family will be planted and grow somewhere amazing because instead of us stopping, we just shifted 3 feet outside the door and then prayed with her.

I have been reflecting on this all week. I could have been upset or offended by the comment that came immediately – however – I got in my car once we were done praying and I started praying for this individual who was more comfortable with us moving outside.  It is God’s will that everyone receives Jesus and comes back to Him if they are not His. So I already know that praying will be the best way to reach this individual.

We are not meant to force ourselves, the Bible or Jesus on others. God himself gave everyone free will.

However, we are most definitely not to back down when Satan shows up.

With this, we also need to remember that we are called to love & accept people where they are, and that is not always easy. But it is what we are called to do.

The lesson here:

Your example in this world is going to do far more than your words ever will. People will do what they see you do, before they do what you tell them to do. Your children (if you have them) are great examples of this.

Lead by example. We influence people daily. Keep it a positive example. And love everyone.

And when Satan shows up; banish him, speak to the mountain, declare your victory and send that liar back to his pit.

So this is the spiritual warfare I am doing currently to give you an example of how we can remain in the victory:

The day following this event at work we were told that we can no longer talk about church at work. It wasn’t stated directly to me but Satan is stupid and I still found out so I can remind him of his defeat.

Although I am sure there are laws that say differently while protecting us and how we were talking about church, I will still walk away smiling because I am more than a Conquerer in Christ.  Jesus has already given us the victory for His Glory and His Kingdom.

So how do I personally handle this kind of attack?

My response is this:

You can just go ahead and get behind me Satan, for it is written that you have already been defeated, and we do not war against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. It is written that we are to spread the good news about how Jesus has saved us and is the way the truth and the life. We are to spread the word of God. We are His body, hands and feet. So you see Satan, you have already been defeated.

With that – if I ever get fired in the future for helping someone start thinking about church or start attending church again, I will celebrate that as a victory as well. For it is also written “You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” ~ Matthew 10:22 ~ “Even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”” ~ 1 Peter 3:14 ~

And with that, a blessing would be returned unto me.

So you see, victory is already mine and you are defeated Satan.

In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen!

What happened at work that morning was beautiful. And I am thankful that I could do that for our Lord and Savior.

In the spirit world I am now winning the war, it has been spoken and that mountain must come down.

If you are not there yet, start building yourself up in the word of God. Build your faith. Build you victories. Gain your confidence by reading the word. And you will begin to gain a boldness you never knew you had. The Spirit is powerful in that way.

Go out, and just be His hands and Feet. Lift, encourage, and inspire others. Read the word of God. And through this your boldness will grow.
