I’m not sure who needs to see/read this, but it has been on my heart for a day or two so Hudson and I are going to get it out there.
—> Satan sends decoys.<—
It’s one of his methods.
If he knows the dream, if he knows the plan, if he knows what your going after, or your desires, he will send you a decoy that resembles exactly what your looking for, but with subtle differences (the “exceptions”). And as soon as you take the bate, things begin to go astray.
But not to quickly, or that would be obvious. Progressively, one piece after another it builds up.
A personal example:
Tank vrs Hudson.
Tank was the decoy. On the surface he seemed like an amazing dog. He was everything (except) – see, we often times over look the smaller “exceptions” because the decoy always has a majority of what we are looking for. Tank was NOT a poodle mix. I let it go. Because he was a lot of good things, but a poodle mix was what I was praying for.
And then after a few days I signed the adoption paperwork and paid the fee and it went down hill from that moment. One stressful situation after another. We had good times with him, but it was still stressful.
The decoy is out of God’s will for your life, so there will be stress and a lack of peace.
Hudson, a true answer to a prayer and a fulfilled promise = Peace. That word is so important.
I need to take a second here and point out that there is a difference between peace vrs. comfort & familiarity.
The decoy brings great feelings up front, but not necessarily peace. We may have comfort, but not necessarily peace. Many times people stay with the stressfulness of a decoy, because it is familiar and familiar brings comfort. Change is hard. Change is not familiar and it does not create comfort. So often times people will remain in the chaos of the decoy, instead of pursue after peace, because on the surface, pursuing peace looks like a ton of work, it is sometimes uncomfortable and it is not usually familiar. However, peace brings a far greater reward and it usually feels way better than comfort once we finally step into it, and pursue it.
So the point there is that we need to follow after peace. We need to be careful not to fall for the decoys. Shortly after the decoy, comes God’s blessing. God’s answer to your prayer/dream.
And if we are busy being stressed over, or focused on the decoy, we may completely miss out on God’s timing and the blessing.
The decoys are one way Satan steals, kills and destroys. If he can get you to take the decoy, he has a greater chance at “stealing” the blessing when God brings it. You are less likely to seek the blessing. You won’t be as willing to leave familiar or comfort to go after peace.
If he can get you to take the decoy, and steal the blessing, he can then move into his 2nd motive and that is to “kill” the dream. If he is successful this far, this is usually when people give up and blame God. Saying things like,”If it was God’s will, it would have worked out.”
WRONG!
We screwed it up, not God, and that is a defeated mentality. Now Satan can move to the last motive which is “destroy”
If he has stolen your peace, and killed the dream, he has now destroyed your plans, your purpose, and he has just built a strong hold of defeat in your life.
We need to recognize this quickly, and take care of it swiftly. So the strong hold does not develop.
I was quick to recognize I missed it with Tank. I repented, and I started praying deliverance. I prayed at first that Tank be delivered from his severe PTSD that was ripping my house to shreds (literally). Then I realized that was not the answer, and I repented again and began to ask God for deliverance from Tank. I prayed the perfect owner to come along.
God is so good. It was not immediate. It took a couple of very highly stressful months.
I remained in faith God brought our deliverance.
So Hudson and I are here to tell you; be cautious of the decoys. And if you have found yourself in a place where you took the decoy because you, like me, were in a hurry, or not at the top of your game – God’s got deliverance for you. Repent, and begin to pray and praise your deliverance and victory in.
And just know…
We have all been there, however, God is so good He has already got a way out for you.
